After the success of our French excursion with Fred Sirieix in August 2022 we were tasked with a new campaign called ‘Gin Your Way’ in the UK.

The marketing team at Paragon wanted to showcase their alcoholic beverage ‘G’vine’ in as many quirky and unconventional setups as possible.

The project needed a lot of creative support and input from us as well as the typical production side of things. We couldn’t wait to get into pre-production and plan out fun and inventive ways for Fred Sirieix to enjoy his gin.

Pre-Production

The only thing that was set in stone was the shoot date (based on Fred’s busy filming schedule). The rest was up to us.

We began hashing out ideas for ‘unconventional’ ways to enjoy a G’vine and tonic. With the budget in mind we settled on 9 main setups, 5 supporting cast members and 1 killer location.

The setups included:

  • A fully clothed pool party

  • A boxing gym

  • A bath tub filled with grapes

  • An explosive dinner party and much more.

It was a lot to plan, schedule and fit into one filming day. Onto production.

Production

With fully loaded vehicles packed with lighting, cameras, props, costumes and crew we headed from Manchester to London for a jam packed shoot.

We like to start early so the team weren’t surprised to see an 8am call time. We had an hour on location to pre-light some of the sets and get the extras into hair/ make-up before our main talent, Fred Sirieix turned up. We worked from room to room maximising the huge property we rented offering up various back drops. Between every video setup was a dedicated photography session with Fred working swiftly and efficiently to maximise deliverables.

We wanted the one day shoot to look like it was shot in multiple locations across multiple days.

One of the strangest setups we’ve created as a company is the bath tub filled with grapes. We shipped over 2000 grapes to the property on the morning of the shoot and filled the bath tub with bubble wrap and a thick layer of grapes.

After a brief Nando’s break we carried on with the next setups which consisted of a wine cellar filled with >100 bottles of gin, a painting experience at the easel and a night time pool party.

With a hard out of 6PM we knew we had to work hard and swift to get the shot list boxed off. It was a team effort with 10 crew members focusing on their core areas but also jumping on a broom to clear up the vast amounts of confetti that we shot across the kitchen island when the time came.

With jam packed memory cards we headed back to Manchester to begin the edit.

Post-Production

Our in-house team took care of the photography cull and the 35 second hero video. The music and tone was already set from a previous campaign and therefore it was simply a case of pulling together the best moments into a fun experience that makes customers feel something.

We went through multiple rounds of amends working collaboratively with the marketing team and the brand owners to craft something that would work for a fast moving online audience.
