The Brief
Snowdonia Cheese returned with a new brief, this time they wanted to include models and shoot on location to create a whole suite of assets to be throughout Christmas.
The campaign was to promote their range of hampers filled to the brim with award winning cheese and wines. The perfect gift this festive season.
Pre-Production
We began with a script & moodboard for the type of shots we wanted to capture. The list of deliverables included both video & stills so we had to work as a collaborative team sharing models and crew to capture the shots needed.
The biggest obstacle was find the right location. It had to be authentically Welsh, located in Snowdonia National Park, cosy and warm with an exposed fire place, multiple living spaces and an stunning exterior with rolling mountains nearby. Not too much to ask for then.
After days and days of research we found 5 ideal locations and the client picked their favourite. We shared 10 different headshots with personal recommendations for the cast before confirming Alice and Chiara.
Once the location and cast were confirmed it was onto the styling and prop shopping. We dug deep into our 500+ prop collection and sourced a number of new products and light fixtures to help decorate the location to taste.
Production
Filming took place over 2 days in the depths of Snowdonia National Park with a multi-skilled crew of 4 plus 2 clients and 2 models. The house was dressed with Christmas trees, candles, rugs and too many fairy lights to count.
The products were lined up perfectly for each shot and we would switch between video and stills capturing a bank of different assets. Some shots were specifically designed for print with room left for copy, other were vertical first video clips. This was all mapped out in a detailed shot list for everyone to follow.
Post-Production
The core deliverable was a 15s brand ad to help promote the Snowdonia Cheese Christmas hampers. This was ran as a youtube pre-roll ad alongside a 6s cutdown in 16x9, 1x1 and 9x16. Each frame size was considered during the production of the shoot with plenty of time allocated in the schedule to ensure it was just a crop down job later. Everything had it’s place by design.
All edited and graded in house by the Dead Pixel squad.
