Filming safely during covid-19 restrictions

Our top priority is the safety of our team and that of our clients (and always will be). The Prime Minister’s updates have reaffirmed that producing video content to a high standard can resume following strict health and safety precautions. This blog outlines our frequently updated filming capabilities, along with a look at the safety procedure that we’re following during all productions.

It’s business almost as usual in this sense.

Development: All creative development, planning and editing work can be completed remotely from our home setups. Location recce’s completed via video call.

Edits: Workflow and approval remains the same using G Suite and Vimeo Plus allowing clients to feedback effortlessly.

And with less face-to-face meetings meaning less driving cars, it can only be good for the environment.

Production

If the project cannot be completed at home then we’re okay to go to work, whilst adhering to safety guidelines. This opens up the ability to film content within the large and medium-sized studios that surround our office in The Sharp Project.

In the Studios:

  • We ensure all studios are spacious enough to keep socially distanced.

  • We use long cables and wireless technology for video viewing areas; away from crew and on screen talent. Remote live feed available for offsite viewing.

  • We’re full stocked with hand sanitiser, masks and gloves.

  • All crew are encouraged to wash hands regularly and maintain their own health standards.

  • We’re setup for quick turnaround video content and completely customisable in terms of textures and backdrops.

In The Kitchen:

We partner with a number of kitchen studios across the North West to produce social and commercial food & retail-focussed videos and have hand picked 3 studios that:

  • Include a back kitchen for prep and a main kitchen for filming (to avoid contact).

  • Are flexible enough to allow to us re-arrange the layout, display signage and include social distance markings where necessary.

  • Crews are kept to a minimum with only essential staff being allowed on set.

Outdoor Filming

Unlimited exercise for all. And with the ability to travel for any work that cannot be done at home, this opens up outdoor locations for filming purposes.

  • Being outdoors allows for everyone to remain >2m away from each other, as well as presenting less objects to touch (door handles etc). Ideal for any fashion, sports or lifestyle brand looking to create content in the great outdoors (focusing on product or one model at a time).

  • All outdoor shoots will be covered on long lenses to create distance between any on screen talent and the camera/crew.
