Brief

As part of a very strategic SEO-focussed campaign, the Myprotein content team approached us to help create an educational YouTube series that would answer common questions surrounding creatine, whey protein and pre-workout supplements.

It was vital that the science-led and research based video content appeal to, and hold the engagement of, a specific target audience in order increase brand exposure and drive organic search traffic.

Production

Filming took place over two days at a Manchester studio sourced by our production team.

All content was shot across two Sony FS7 cameras, using our 24-70mm and 70-200mm zoom lenses. We captured all footage in 4K, giving us plenty of angles and options to play with and allowing us to punch in and out during the edit (vital for the desired YouTuber style of cuts).

We split the two researchers across the two days and provided a teleprompter to assist with script delivery.

We sourced a custom colourama to match the brand’s colours and lit the set using our Aperture 300d and 300x lights. Everything was achieved with a minimal two-person crew consisting of our in-house DOP & Director/Producer.

Post-Production

We edited the full series across a three week period, including client input and sign off.

The focus was to derive a consistent and relevant look & feel that could be carried across each episode, tying them all together without losing the attention of the viewer.

We combined a mix of filmed footage, static imagery and motion graphics to keep the content entertaining, as well as deliver the key messages and facts in a memorable way.

For the full nutrition series, visit the Myprotein Youtube Channel (the brand is releasing one episode each week).
